PARTS

The goslings are asleep
But bullfrogs are awake
And kingfishers patrolling up and down

Imperious whoofe of a deer
One carp that rises/fall                          s
Whale-loud against the bank

Skunk cabbage past its prime
And helicopter seeds slip-sliding down
As mulberries are darkening overhead

Part of me would walk on forever
Part of me wants someone to protest
