Protecting, maintaining, and promoting the recreational, historical, aesthetic, and environmental qualities of the Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park and its environs, to assist and to support regional, state, local, and private enterprise efforts which contribute to this goal, and to investigate the restoration of the canal to through navigation.

No. The D&R Canal Commission is the New Jersey state agency that regulates the canal and park. D&R Canal Watch is an independent volunteer nonprofit that supports the park through events, projects, and fundraising.

Yes. D&R Canal Watch, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 22-2935985. Donations are deductible to the full extent allowed by law and a receipt is emailed automatically.

How do I become a member of D&R Canal Watch?

Join online at canalwatch.org/join. Individual membership is $15 a year, family membership is $25, and higher levels are available for organizations, patrons, and businesses.

How can I volunteer with D&R Canal Watch?

Use the contact form at canalwatch.org/contact-us and tell us what you are interested in. Volunteers lead walks, staff open houses at the historic locktender homes, help at cleanups, and serve on the board.
